Operatives of the Delta State Police Command’s Anti‑Cultism Unit (CACU) arrested two suspected cultists in Ibusa Community, Oshimili North Local Government Area.

The arrests were made on 19 June 2026 at about 23:45 hrs, according to the DAILY POST.

During the operation, police seized an English pump‑action gun loaded with five live cartridges, a cutlass, charms, and substances suspected to be illicit drugs.

Delta State Police Public Relations Officer Bright Edafe confirmed the incident in a statement on Sunday.

The Police Image maker said, “In a sustained effort to rid Delta State of cult‑related violence and other criminal activities, operatives of the Command Anti‑Cultism Unit (CACU), acting on credible intelligence, on 19 June 2026 at about 23:45 hrs, carried out a coordinated operation at a suspected criminal hideout in Ibusa, Oshimili North Local Government Area.”

According to SP Edafe, “The operation led to the arrest of two suspected cultists identified as Okonkwo Prosper (26) of Aniofu, Aniocha North Local Government Area, and Tuesday Emmanuel (25) of the same address.”

“A search conducted during the operation resulted in the recovery of one English pump‑action gun loaded with five live cartridges, one cutlass, charms, and substances suspected to be illicit drugs,” SP Edafe added.

SP Edafe also said that, “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects are alleged members of a cult group linked to several cult‑related clashes in Ibusa and its environs.”

“The suspects are in custody, while efforts are ongoing to arrest other fleeing members of the criminal group.”
