Trump Announces Completion of Iran Deal and Authorizes Reopening of the Strait of Hormuz

President Donald Trump announced that a deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran has been finalized and that the United States will lift its naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping lane for global oil transport.

In a statement posted to his Truth Social account, Trump wrote: “The Deal with the Islamic Republic of Iran is now complete. Congratulations to all!”

He added that he has authorized the toll‑free reopening of the Strait of Hormuz and the immediate removal of the U.S. naval blockade.

“I hereby fully authorize the toll free opening of the Strait of Hormuz, and, simultaneously herewith, authorize the immediate removal of the United States Naval blockade,” Trump said.

Trump also urged shipping companies worldwide to resume operations, stating: “Ships of the World, start your engines. Let the oil flow!”
