On Monday morning, a Honda vehicle collided with two commercial tricycles at the Federal Bus Stop on Ipaja Road in Lagos State, injuring several commuters.
The crash took place at about 8:50 a.m. and involved a Honda car registered KTU 921 JY.
Eyewitnesses reported that roughly ten passengers sustained injuries of varying severity.
According to witnesses, the female driver was allegedly traveling at high speed when she tried to avoid a street sweeper operated by the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA). The driver reportedly struck the sweeper, lost control, crossed into the opposite lane, and then struck the two tricycles.
Some victims suffered serious injuries, while others sustained only minor wounds.
After the incident, the injured passengers were first taken to a nearby private medical facility for emergency treatment, and some were later transferred to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital for further care.
Police officers from the Gowon Divisional Headquarters, officials of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and local security personnel were present at the scene, coordinating rescue efforts and managing traffic flow.
At the time this report was filed, authorities had not yet released an official statement about the accident.
