Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that it has seized U.S.-made weapons that were being transported into Iran by northern Iraqi counter-revolutionary groups.

The semi‑official Iranian news agency Fars disclosed the information on Monday.

The IRGC said the groups were operating in the Kurdistan province, where a large cache of weapons and ammunition was found and confiscated.

As of the time of this report, the United States has not issued an official comment on the Iranian claims.

Earlier this year, U.S. President Donald Trump stated in April that the United States had sought to arm Iranian protesters, noting that the weapons largely ended up in the hands of Iran’s Kurdish groups.
