World Cup 2026: Antonio Valencia names a player to compete for the Golden Boot

Former Manchester United star Antonio Valencia has endorsed Sweden striker Viktor Gyökeres as a contender for the World Cup Golden Boot.

Gyökeres sparked Sweden’s 5‑1 victory over Tunisia in their opening match today.

“I can see Viktor Gyökeres fighting for the Golden Boot,” Valencia told Hajper.

“He has had a good season and a good Champions League, but we know there are also other interesting players who have done things well.”

Gyökeres now aims to lead Sweden to victory in their upcoming match against the Netherlands on Saturday.

The Arsenal star enjoyed a stellar campaign with the Gunners last season, helping them win the Premier League title and reach the Champions League final.
