Brazil head coach Carlo Ancelotti has explained why his side finished with a 1‑1 draw against Morocco in their World Cup opener.

Morocco opened the scoring through Ismael Saibari in the first half, before Vinícius Júnior levelled for Brazil.

In his post‑match interview, Ancelotti said his team “lost possession and lacked balance” against the African side, particularly in the first half.

“I think this match, especially the first half, was very difficult. The team was a bit too nervous, lost possession a lot, and lacked balance on the field,” he said.

“The second half was much better. It was a difficult match, but the team will be better in the next game.”

Brazil’s next fixture is against Haiti on Saturday, while Morocco will face Scotland on Friday.
