NNPP Leaders Meet NDC Candidate for Kano Governorship in 2027

The leadership of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State convened on Tuesday to meet Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo, the 2027 governorship candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

During the session, NNPP leaders, headed by Dr. Hashim Suleiman Dungurawa, praised Gwarzo for winning the NDC’s governorship nomination.

They also prayed for the NDC candidate’s success in the upcoming general elections.

Sources indicate that the NNPP in Kano may merge its structure into the NDC in an effort to oust the current governor, Abba Yusuf.

Governor Yusuf’s strained relationship with Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwassiyya Movement, has cast doubt on his re‑election prospects.

Kwankwaso, who is presently the vice‑presidential candidate of the NNPP, has pledged to ensure that the NDC takes control of the Kano State government in 2027.
