NNPP Leaders Meet NDC Candidate for Kano Governorship in 2027

The leadership of the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP) in Kano State convened on Tuesday to meet with the 2027 governorship candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), Aminu Abdussalam Gwarzo.

During the session, the NNPP leaders, headed by Dr. Hashim Suleiman Dungurawa, praised Gwarzo for winning the NDC governorship nomination.

They also prayed for divine favor for the NDC candidate in the upcoming general elections.

There are reports that the NNPP in Kano State may dissolve its structure and merge into the NDC in order to unseat the incumbent governor, Abba Yusuf.

Governor Yusuf’s strained relationship with Rabiu Kwankwaso, the leader of the Kwankwassiyya Movement, has continued to cast doubt on his re‑election prospects.

Kwankwaso, who is currently the vice‑presidential candidate of the NNPP, has pledged to ensure that the NDC takes control of the Kano State government in 2027.
