Former two‑time heavyweight champion Hasim Rahman has called Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury “old fighters.”

The two British boxers are slated to meet later this year, but each must first win their respective warm‑up bouts.

Fury has already returned, defeating Arslanbek Makhmudov by unanimous decision in April, but “The Gypsy King” is expected to fight once more before facing Joshua.

His next bout is scheduled for August, with the unbeaten 41‑year‑old Nelson Hysa named as a potential opponent.

Meanwhile, Joshua must beat his confirmed opponent, Kristian Prenga, to secure the long‑awaited domestic showdown with Fury.

The 36‑year‑old will face Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on July 25, fighting for the first time since a sixth‑round finish over Jake Paul in December.

After that victory, Joshua was involved in a tragic car crash that claimed the lives of two close friends, forcing him to spend the following months resting mentally and physically.

In an interview with B4 Champ (via Boxing News) ahead of the potential fight, Rahman said the damage both Fury and Joshua have sustained in previous bouts could play a role in their upcoming encounter.

“It’s a pick ’em fight. I just feel like the damage both of these guys have suffered can manifest itself in any given fight,” Rahman said. “You know how they say you can get old in one fight? They’re both old fighters, and they’re starting to look old, so it can happen in any given moment.”

“Anthony Joshua definitely has the power to hit Tyson and hurt him. Tyson has had amazing recuperative powers his entire career, but at some point he’s got to go.”

“If Joshua drops him, maybe he don’t get up in 10 seconds.”

Rahman also acknowledged that Fury has the power to hurt his expected opponent, suggesting that their eventual clash would make for an intriguing bout.
