World Cup: Benítez names Osimhen one of the four players he wished to see play.

Former Liverpool manager Rafa Benítez has named Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen among four players he would have liked to see at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The tournament began on Thursday, but Osimhen will not be participating because Nigeria failed to qualify.

Speaking to La Gazzetta, Benítez listed Osimhen, Robert Lewandowski, Piotr Zieliński, and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the players he would have preferred to watch.

“Too easy: Kvaratskhelia, first and foremost,” Benítez said. “And then Osimhen too, and not just because Napoli holds a special place in my heart. But I must also add Zieliński and Lewandowski, one of the greatest ever.”
