Ogun State Police Command confirmed that three suspects, one of whom was a former security guard, have been arrested in connection with the murder of former Ogun State Television broadcaster Olakitan Oyesiku and her security guard, Pelumi Adetayo.

The arrests were announced by the state Commissioner of Police, Bode Ojajuni, during a press briefing on Thursday at the command headquarters in Abeokuta.

Ojajuni said the arrests resulted from extensive intelligence gathering, forensic analysis, and technical tracking operations conducted by detectives investigating the double murder.

The victims were discovered dead at the former broadcaster’s home in the Owode‑Egba area of Ogun State on June 21, and her Lexus RX 330 was reported missing.

The commissioner added that officers received a distress call around 4 p.m. on June 21 about suspicious activity at the residence.

Ojajuni said preliminary information suggested the front door of the residence had been partially damaged and that the security house within the compound was locked, leading to immediate police intervention.
