Police arrest 25 suspects and recover drugs in Plateau

The Plateau State Police Command has detained 25 suspects and seized cannabis, controlled drugs, and other prohibited substances from them.

In a statement, SP Alfred Alabo, the command’s spokesperson, said that a joint detective team headed by the Officer‑in‑Charge of the Violence Crime Response Unit (VCRU) worked with staff from the Anglo‑Jos Division, Anti‑Cybercrime & Narcotic Unit, and the Monitoring Team to raid known drug hot spots on Saturday at Old Airport Junction and Fwavei Junction in Jos.

According to the statement, “The operation targeted notorious points where miscreants sell and distribute cannabis, illicit substances, controlled drugs, and other banned substances.”

The statement added that the 25 suspects were taken into custody at the locations, and the seized items are now held by the police.

CP Bassey Ewah, the State Commissioner of Police, praised the officers for their courage, professionalism, and teamwork.
