Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State instructed the newly inducted Forest Guard graduates to uphold human rights and maintain professionalism as they begin their security duties in the state.
He delivered this counsel to 2,187 Forest Guard personnel during their passing‑out parade at the police training school in Yelwa, Bauchi Local Government Area.
Deputy Governor Rt. Honourable Auwal Jatau stood beside him.
In his welcome address, the governor greeted representatives from all security agencies in the state.
He also highlighted the programme’s significance and urged the graduates to act as good ambassadors in all their activities.
He noted that the initiative exemplifies peace‑building, embodies integrity and discipline, and urged the guards to observe rules of engagement in all tasks to fulfill the goals of establishing the Forest Guard Corps.
He emphasized that the government would not tolerate unlawful acts and urged the guards to promote environmental sustainability and security in the state.
Commander General of the Bauchi State Vigilante and Youth Empowerment Agency, Umar Shayi, praised the governor’s efforts and his commitment to building local security forces to ensure safety in all aspects of Bauchi State.
Shayi urged the graduates to remain committed and dedicated in carrying out their duties.
