Atletico Madrid has decided to keep Super Eagles striker Ademola Lookman for the upcoming season, according to Afrik‑Foot.
The Nigerian international has attracted attention from several clubs, most notably Turkish champions Galatasaray, who have been keen to strengthen their attack for the next campaign.
Lookman joined Atletico in the winter transfer window for a fee of roughly €35 million from Atalanta. He made an immediate impact, scoring nine goals and delivering four assists in all competitions, including three goals in the Copa del Rey. He also scored in the final, which Atletico lost to Real Sociedad on penalties after he was forced off with an injury.

The club views Lookman as a key component of its plans, especially after the departure of Antoine Griezmann at the end of last season.
Atletico Madrid’s firm stance on Lookman’s future
Reports from Footy‑Africa confirm that Atletico has rejected offers for Lookman, even though clubs such as Galatasaray and Fenerbahce have shown interest.
Fenerbahce had previously agreed personal terms with the forward, but Atletico ultimately secured his signature. Galatasaray have continued to monitor him as they look to add firepower to their squad.

Implications for Galatasaray
Atletico’s decision is a setback for Galatasaray, who had identified Lookman as a top target for the summer transfer window.
The Turkish champions, who have won four consecutive Super Lig titles, aim to strengthen their European ambitions and saw Lookman’s quality and clutch performances as a perfect fit.
After reaching the Champions League Round of 16 last season, Galatasaray are looking to deepen their run in the competition while maintaining domestic dominance. They also hoped to reunite Lookman with countryman Victor Osimhen, hoping the pair could replicate their national team chemistry at club level.

For now, Lookman is expected to stay at Atletico and enter his first full season with the club, where he will aim to help Los Rojiblancos challenge Barcelona and Real Madrid for the La Liga title next season.
