Beloved, congratulations! You have reached the sixth month of the year. Thanks be to God.
The sixth month marks not only the end of the first half of the year but also a time of Good News, as significant events recorded in the Holy Bible occurred during this month.
If you have worked hard like Peter and found your efforts fruitless, you can experience an overflow by inviting Jesus into your situation, just as He did for Peter.
Now is the moment to act if you have a goal you wish to achieve before the year ends, so that good news becomes your testimony.
You may have taken steps that now work against what you desire. Brethren, approach the Lord in prayer with a remorseful heart and plead for forgiveness.
Many people cannot identify or address the obstacles that hinder or delay miracles.
The Bible does not record that Blind Bartimaeus’s sin caused his blindness, yet he called for mercy.
Mark 10:47‑48 (KJV): “And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me. And many charged him that he should hold his peace; but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.”
You are familiar with the story. Jesus stopped, attended to him, and he regained his sight.
Let’s examine two important events that occurred in the sixth month according to biblical records.
Luke 1:26 (KJV): “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee, named Nazareth.”
The visitation to Mary, announcing that she would bear our Lord, took place in the sixth month.
Note that the angel came with a word from God.
In verse 36 of the same chapter, the Bible records: “And behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age, and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren.”
Elisabeth, who was old and had been barren for years, was visited by God, and by the time she met Mary, the baby in her womb was six months old.
For both Mary and Elisabeth, human beings would say it is “impossible,” and they would be right. Mary conceived as a virgin by the power of the Holy Ghost, and Elisabeth, whom everyone had written off, also conceived when the power of God entered her womb.
In Elisabeth’s case, it was God’s mercy that produced the miracle. God remembered her.
As you progress through June, may God remember you and visit you in the name of Jesus.
Another memorable event in the sixth month is recorded in Ezekiel 8:1‑2: “And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, in the fifth day of the month, as I sat in mine house, and the elders of Judah sat before me, that the hand of the Lord GOD fell thereupon me. Then I beheld, and lo a likeness as the appearance of fire: from the appearance of his loins even downward, fire, and from his loins even upward, as the appearance of brightness, as the color of amber.”
The key phrase here is “the hand of the Lord God.” When the hand of the Lord God is upon you, whatever has been locked in your life will open.
You will move forward and stagnation will end. With the hand of God upon you, fear, worry, mockery, or shame will cease.
God did this for Elisabeth. He can still do it for you if you trust Him and cry for mercy.
Other significant words in the passage are “an appearance of fire…as the appearance of brightness, as the color of amber.” That is the Holy Ghost in action.
Acts of the Apostles 2:1‑4 (NIV) confirms this: “When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like the blowing of a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them.”
Use this prayer point: “Every chain and fetter that the enemy has used to hold down my destiny, break by fire.”
It may seem simple, but it invites the Holy Spirit to set you free, and according to the Bible, “ye shall be free indeed.”
When the Holy Ghost steps in, the challenge must vanish. Light cannot coexist with darkness; darkness must give way to light.
A challenge is a form of darkness and can appear in many ways, varying from person to person. Every person knows what constitutes a “but” in their life, but the Almighty God can bring a turnaround.
June is the time to move forward, and I pray that God’s power will propel you. You will move from obscurity to the limelight in the name of Jesus.
Beloved, do not despair; the days of tears and sorrow will soon be over.
Isaiah 60:2: “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and glory shall be seen upon thee.”
When the challenge is gone and the glory of God is seen in you, that is when you give testimony, and people rejoice with you.
Many of these battles you cannot fight yourself; let God fight on your behalf.
Joshua 10:14: “And there was no day like that before it or after it, that the LORD harkened unto the voice of man: for the LORD fought for Israel.”
Even if human beings stand as obstacles to your progress, you may not have the capacity to fight for yourself, but God can fight for you.
Another step is to act on God’s revelation. Search the scriptures to find what God has said about your situation. Read stories of people who faced similar challenges and how they achieved breakthroughs.
2 Corinthians 4:13: “We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak.”
You just have to believe the Word of God that you have read or heard.
As you cry to the Lord, good news will be at your doorstep.
Glory be to God.
