Atlético Madrid is reportedly considering selling Ademola Lookman, only a few months after signing him from Atalanta.
The La Liga side has reportedly set a price tag of around €50 million, according to the Spanish transfer‑market site Fichajes.
The former African Footballer of the Year arrived in Spain with high expectations after a successful spell in Italy, where he was a key attacking figure for Atalanta.
Known for his pace, direct style, and versatility across the front line, Lookman was expected to add creativity and depth to Diego Simeone’s squad.
However, his adaptation to Simeone’s demanding tactical system has not proceeded as smoothly as hoped.
Simeone places a premium on defensive discipline, off‑the‑ball work rate, and tactical organization—areas where Lookman has yet to fully convince.
In the second half of last season, Lookman recorded 13 goal contributions (nine goals and four assists) in 24 matches across all competitions.
Because of the uncertainty surrounding his future, he declined a call‑up to the Nigeria squad for the June international fixtures against Poland and Portugal.
