Super Eagles striker Akor Adams could exit Sevilla this summer, amid significant interest from clubs outside Spain, Afrik-Foot reports.

Adams was arguably Sevilla’s best performer last season. It was his best campaign at a club in one of the top-five European leagues.

The 26-year-old marksman netted ten goals and provided three assists in 32 appearances for Los Nervionenses, playing a key role in the club’s successful battle against relegation.

This output is actually a significant turnaround from last season, when the Super Eagles marksman failed to register a goal or an assist following his January transfer from Montpellier.

His recent form has not gone unnoticed, drawing interest from clubs in England and Saudi Arabia. And now, former Ligue 1 champions Marseille have now entered the fray.

Why Marseille are targeting Akor Adams

According to Ficherio, Marseille have emerged as a primary destination for Adams. The French giants are looking to bolster their attacking options this summer to mount a serious title challenge next season, and the Nigerian international has been identified as a priority target.

Adams offers quite a versatile skill set—he is quick, technically adept with the ball at his feet, and has a significant aerial threat.

Also, his previous stint with Montpellier means he would need little time to adapt to Ligue 1 football.

Marseille are prepared to offer €18 million (₦24 billion) for the striker.However, Sevilla are holding out for a fee closer to €25 million.

The Spanish club is in a delicate situation. Due to La Liga’s stringent financial regulations, they must generate significant revenue from player sales this summer to register new signings for next season.

Whether a compromise can be reached remains to be seen. Sevilla are definitely open to negotiations. But of course, the deal hinges on the financial structure of the deal.
