ADC: Hayatu-Deen more competent, experienced than Atiku – Babachir Lawal 

Former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Babachir Law Lawal, has stated that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential aspirant Mohammed Hayatu‑Deen is more competent than the party’s official presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Law Lawal said that Atiku’s experience cannot be compared to Hayatu‑Deen’s extensive background.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, Law Lawal remarked that the two men are not on the same level.

When asked whether Hayatu‑Deen is more competent than Atiku, he replied, “Hayatu‑Deen is more competent than Atiku. They can’t even be in the same boat.”

“They are not on the same boat and not possibly talking of the same sea. For years, he was Chairman of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group, NESG,” he added.

Both Atiku and Hayatu‑Deen took part in the recent ADC presidential primary election, which was held to select the party’s flag bearer for the 2027 election.

Atiku won the primary by securing the highest number of votes, while Hayatu‑Deen placed third, behind former Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, who came in second.
