Hon. Chinedu Ogah, the federal representative for the Ikwo/Ezza South constituency, called on political actors in Ebonyi's South Zone to observe the state's zoning formula and uphold equity, fairness, and political inclusion.

Speaking to reporters in Abakaliki, Ogah warned that any effort by South‑Zone politicians to contest the current arrangement or oppose Governor Francis Nwifuru’s administration would breach the power‑sharing agreement that has maintained peace and stability in Ebonyi.

He highlighted that Ebonyi’s political system rests on mutual trust, rotational governance, and the sacrifices of its founding leaders, especially former Governor Chief Martin Nwanchor Elechi, whose work reinforced equity across the zones.

Ogah, chair of the House Committee on Reformatory Institutions, pointed out that states such as Borno, Benue, and Kwara have kept power within dominant groups for years, whereas Ebonyi has pursued balance, justice, and inclusion for the common good.

He added that with the governorship now in Ebonyi North—especially the Izzi clan—political actors should promote continuity, strengthen the current administration’s achievements, and refrain from actions that could inflame the political climate.

Ogah warned against external political interference in Ebonyi, asserting that the people remain united and determined to safeguard the state’s stability and collective mandate.

He urged stakeholders, party members, and opinion leaders statewide to prioritize unity, equity, and sustainable development over personal ambition and divisive politics.
