Yoruba Muslim leaders warn against “fake imams” association.

The League of Imams and Alfas in Yorubaland has cautioned Nigerians against recognizing or supporting a newly formed association that claims to represent the body, asserting it has no ties to any fundraising campaigns, launches, or activities organized by certain individuals and groups across the South‑West.

As the apex Islamic body for Imams, Alfas and the Muslim Ummah in Yorubaland, the League described the emergence of a parallel association as a misleading development that could create confusion, undermine established Islamic leadership structures and threaten unity within the Muslim community.

The League’s position was communicated in a statement released to journalists on Wednesday in Ibadan, Oyo State.
