Yohanna Grateful to AIK for Career Development, Says “I Enjoyed Every Second”

Zadok Yohanna has thanked Swedish club AIK Stockholm for the role they played in his growth and development as a footballer, Completesports.com reports.

Yohanna ended his time with the Black and Yellows after agreeing a five‑year contract with Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday.

The Nigerian will complete his move to the AMEX when the transfer window reopens later this month.

Yohanna expressed his gratitude to everyone at AIK Stockholm for the support and encouragement that helped make his time at the club a success.

“Almost a year ago, a dream came true when I signed my first first‑team contract with AIK. From my first day at AIK, I have enjoyed every second, but now another dream has also come true,” the 18‑year‑old was quoted by AIK’s official website.

“Even though I am now leaving AIK, I will always carry with me what the club has meant to me and my development both as a footballer and a person. Thanks to all the players, managers and supporters who have supported me.”

From Ikon Allah Academy To Europe

Yohanna began his career at Ikon Allah Football Academy in Nigeria before moving to Sweden in 2025, where he quickly adapted to European football with AIK.

The young winger started out with AIK’s U‑19 team before earning promotion to the first team.

He has made 18 appearances for the club across all competitions this season, scoring five goals and registering four assists.

Yohanna made his first‑team debut for AIK against IFK Götteborg on August 17, 2025.

It was understood that Newcastle United were among the clubs keen on securing Yohanna’s signature, with Chelsea also said to be keeping tabs on the talented youngster.

The winger earned a call‑up to the Super Eagles squad for the Unity Cup but was unable to participate after suffering an injury.
