Yahaya Bello wins APC primary for Kogi West Senatorial seat

Former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello has won the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary for the Kogi Central senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 elections.

The primary, held on Monday, featured two other candidates.

Competing against Bello were APC Diaspora Secretary Momoh Obaro and Ibrahim Yakubu Adoke.

The contest followed a period of political tension and widespread rumors within the party that Bello’s screening process may have encountered complications, raising doubts about his eligibility.
