Spain coach Luis de la Fuente revealed the player he would sign from another national team as his ideal addition to La Roja.

After securing Euro 2024 with Spain, De la Fuente spoke to reporters before the team's second World Cup group match against Saudi Arabia in Atlanta on Sunday.

When asked which player he would hypothetically sign, De la Fuente chose Argentine striker Julián Álvarez over Brazil’s Vinícius and France’s Kylian Mbappé.

He emphasized that the Atlético Madrid forward aligns with his tactical approach.

“Which player would I sign from another national team? Julián Álvarez. He’s a fantastic player,” De la Fuente said (via @AlbicelesteTalk on X).

“For my idea, he’d fit perfectly; he’d be very important. Mbappe and Vinicius are great players, but in my footballing idea, he would fit perfectly.”
