Prior to the loss to Japan, Tunisia—nicknamed the Carthage Eagles—had been defeated 5-1 by Sweden.
The North African side has joined Haiti and Turkey in exiting the tournament.
Tunisia will play the Netherlands in its final Group F match in the coming days.
