France captain Kylian Mbappé announced his prediction for the 2026 FIFA World Cup: who he believes will score the most goals among Argentina captain Lionel Messi and Portugal skipper Cristiano Ronaldo.

The tournament will begin on Thursday and is being hosted jointly by the United States, Mexico and Canada.

During a conversation with football commentator Finn Agostinelli, Mbappé was asked to name the players he expects to find the net most often at this year’s World Cup.

The Real Madrid striker first selected Spain’s Lamine Yamal as the top scorer, ahead of Florian Wirtz, Memphis Depay, Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland.

He then tipped his Real Madrid teammate Vinicius to outscore Yamal and England captain Harry Kane.

When the focus shifted to the final trio, Mbappé chose Lionel Messi to surpass Vinicius, and then Cristiano Ronaldo over the Argentine.

Finally, the former Paris Saint‑Germain forward declared that he would score more goals than Ronaldo.
