SAFA president Danny Jordaan said that Bafana Bafana can be proud of their performance, even after the disappointing defeat to Canada, according to Completesports.com.

Jordaan Thumbs Up Bafana Bafana

Jordaan said Bafana Bafana can return home with their heads held high, having reached the knockout stage for the first time.

“It is sad that we are bowing out of the World Cup today, but we must applaud this team for what they achieved in the tournament,” Jordaan said after the match.

“They made history on Wednesday when we qualified for the second round for the first time after defeating South Korea 1‑0 in the final group match in Monterrey. We will carry this experience back and build on it,” he added.
