Actor Williams Uchemba declined to comment on the marital status and possible children of the late Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo, stating that only the actor’s close relatives should discuss those details.

Speaking in an interview with The Am Show earlier today, the award‑winning actor, a close friend of the deceased Ekubo, said he would honor any choice Ekubo had made to keep certain aspects of his private life confidential.

“Though I do not think I am in the place to say because if Alex did want it like that, I think I would respect it. I would respect his will and he wanted it that way,” he said.

He added that any information released should come directly from Ekubo’s family.

“If anything would come out from that, it would be his family. People have their decisions, some people would not want it out there or in the public. So, it is still best for his immediate family to say anything on it,” he added.

His remarks arrive as social‑media discussions about whether Ekubo had children intensify.

The actor’s family confirmed that he died at Evercare Hospital in Lagos after a battle with metastatic kidney cancer and requested privacy during their mourning.

Ekubo appeared in more than 100 Nollywood productions over his career.
