Wilfred Ndidi’s move to Saudi Arabia: Could leaving Beşiktaş affect his Super Eagles prospects?

Super Eagles midfielder Wilfred Ndidi is reportedly considering a move from Turkish club Beşiktaş to the Saudi Pro League for the 2026/27 season, according to Afrik‑Foot.

The 29‑year‑old Nigerian joined Beşiktaş after leaving Leicester City and quickly became a key figure in the squad. His midfield performances, leadership and experience made him a central player during the most recent campaign, and he was named vice‑captain shortly after arriving in Istanbul.

Growing interest from Saudi clubs has introduced uncertainty about his future. Turkish outlet Türkiye Gazetesi reports that Beşiktaş has begun preparing for the possibility of losing Ndidi this summer.

The club has identified Fiorentina midfielder Rolando Mandragora as a potential replacement. New manager Vincenzo Italiano, who previously worked with Mandragora in Serie A, is said to admire the Italian midfielder.

Beşiktaş officials have reportedly contacted Fiorentina to discuss the conditions needed to complete a deal. The Italian club is believed to value Mandragora at around €10 million, though no official bid has been made.

These reports suggest that Beşiktaş is taking Saudi interest in Ndidi seriously and is preparing contingency plans should the Nigerian decide to leave Istanbul in the coming weeks.
