War: Our uranium enrichment non-negotiable – Iran

Iran says its right to uranium enrichment is non-negotiable as talks with the United States to end the war in Iran remain at a stalemate.

This was contained in a statement by the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baqaei, on Monday.

Baqaei said Iran’s nuclear enrichment rights are protected by the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, insisting that it is not something Iran will negotiate or compromise over.

“There is no need for another party to recognise this right for Iran. This right already exists,” he said.

His comments are coming as President Donald Trump said he would not sign off on a deal that does not include assurances from Iran to end its nuclear weapons program, including uranium enrichment.
