By Edwin Philip, Lafia
Voting for the Nasarawa North senatorial by‑election has begun, with election materials arriving at 8 a.m.
Hon. Safiyanu Isa Andaha, chairman of Akwanga Local Government Area and voter at Konfar Sarkin 003, noted that he cast his ballot at approximately 8:32 a.m.
He praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its punctuality and organization, urging them to maintain the same standard.
He said, “I have voted exactly at 8:32. I want to commend INEC this time around for a wonderful organisation; the first time they stood by the punctuality of the time, we were before 8:30. By 8:30, voting had commenced. The process so far is good. This time around, INEC did a wonderful job in collaboration with the security agencies; that is what they have been doing across our local government and the electoral ward.”
Additionally, Andaha serves as chairman of the Association of Local Government in Nigeria (ALGON) Nasarawa State chapter and expressed his satisfaction with the orderly conduct of the election within his LGA.
He added, “Indeed, you can observe that every polling unit is currently in session; the voting process is smooth and credible.”
