Supporters of President Donald Trump have praised the newly announced agreement to resolve the US‑Israel‑Iran dispute as a major victory for the President.

Details of the deal remain vague. It is unclear which obligations will be included in the initial memorandum of understanding (MOU) that is set to be signed on Friday, and which issues—such as Iran’s nuclear program—will be negotiated only after the agreement is finalized.

U.S. Vice President Dan Vance noted the drop in oil prices that followed the announcement, calling it a “new era” for the Middle East.

Speaking on Fox News, Vance said, “What the president has accomplished is create the genuine opportunity to transform that region,” adding, “I believe we can confidently assert that Iran will never possess a nuclear weapon.”

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio linked the announcement to Trump’s upcoming 80th birthday on Sunday.

“America is fortunate to have a leader endowed with such extraordinary courage, remarkable strength, an unmatched sense of humor, and an unparalleled love for the nation,” Rubio said on X.

Many Republicans used social media to describe Trump as the “deal‑maker in chief.”

Congressman Robert Aderholt reiterated Trump’s claim that a forthcoming agreement with Iran would impose stricter limits on Tehran’s nuclear program than the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).

The JCPOA, which Trump withdrew from in 2018, was established during the administration of President Barack Obama. It required Tehran to curb its nuclear program in exchange for relief from sanctions. Tehran has consistently maintained that it does not intend to develop a nuclear weapon.

“Unlike the agreement reached under the Obama administration, this deal will not permit Iran to continue enriching uranium and assembling the components necessary to construct a nuclear weapon,” Aderholt said.

However, there was no indication that the memorandum would contain any immediate commitments regarding Tehran’s nuclear program.

Both parties have indicated that the initial agreement would end hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon.
