United States forces launched another strike on Friday, shooting down several Iranian one‑way attack drones that were heading toward the Strait of Hormuz.
The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced the action on social media, stating that the waterway remained open for transit.
“Iran launched multiple one‑way attack drones in an attempt to strike commercial ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM said. “US forces have downed all of them in recent hours as traffic flow through the strait continues unimpeded.”
Iranian news agencies reported that explosions were heard along the strait in Iran’s Sirik port and Qeshm Island.
DAILY POST notes that this is the second consecutive night in which the U.S. has intercepted Iranian drones aimed at ships in the strait.
