Arsenal legend Ian Wright has predicted that Mikel Merino will score the winning goal for the Gunners in the UEFA Champions League final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The former striker said the narrative for the Spaniard was set after his recovery from injury.

In an appearance on The Overlap, Merino acknowledged that the final would be a significant challenge, given PSG’s remarkable prowess.

He said Arsenal was not far behind and was optimistic about their chances of emerging victorious on Saturday, May 30.

“We understand it is going to be a very challenging match. PSG is an extraordinary team. However, we are confident in our abilities as well. Therefore, it will be a tough contest, a close one, and we hope it will favor us.”

Wright added that he was sensing positive energy from Merino. He anticipated the Spaniard scoring the winning goal and remarked:

“I sense winning goal energy from you! I can feel the narrative unfolding! You have faced injury challenges. Just return at the end and then bam, winning goal! You heard it here first!”

Last season, Arsenal were defeated by PSG in the UEFA Champions League semifinal, where the French team went on to win their first-ever title.
