The Tunisia Football Association is acting quickly to appoint a permanent manager after dismissing Sabri Lamouchi on Monday during the ongoing FIFA World Cup.

Lamouchi was sacked following Tunisia’s 5‑1 loss to Sweden in their opening group match on Monday.

Since then, the Carthage Eagles have been linked with several coaches, with Herve Renard emerging as the frontrunner for the vacant position.

Multiple reports indicate that Tunisia FA Technical Director Mondher Kebaier was expected to take over on an interim basis.

The appointment has not yet been officially confirmed.

No one anticipated this move, especially after the qualifying campaign and the difficult journey that led them to the World Cup.

Yet on Monday night in Monterrey, Sweden entered the World Cup stage and dominated the match.
