President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to defeating terrorism, banditry, and other criminal activities, declaring that the Federal Government will never surrender to those who threaten the nation’s peace and security.

The pledge was delivered by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, on behalf of the President during the National Inter Denominational Church Service at the National Christian Centre in Abuja on Sunday, as part of the 2026 Democracy Day celebrations.

Addressing worshippers, Akume stated that the government remains dedicated to strengthening security operations nationwide and to securing the release of citizens held captive by criminal groups. He noted that recent attacks and kidnappings underscore the need for sustained action by security agencies.

“The government of Nigeria shall never succumb to terror, banditry or any form of criminal intimidation,” Akume said, conveying the President’s message. He added that protecting lives and property remains a top priority for the administration.

President Tinubu also acknowledged the economic challenges faced by many Nigerians and assured citizens that his administration is taking steps to ease hardship while improving the delivery of democratic dividends.

He said the government is aware of public concerns over insecurity, inflation, and displacement in some parts of the country and is responding with renewed urgency.
