Tinubu Approves 50% Discount for Nigerian Railway Passengers

President Bola Tinubu has sanctioned a 50 % reduction on all passenger train services run by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).

The measure aims to ease transportation costs for Nigerians during the Eid‑el‑Kabir holiday.

He announced that the discount will be in effect from Tuesday, May 26, 2026, to Monday, June 1, 2026.

During this six‑day period, passengers traveling on NRC routes nationwide will pay only half of the current approved fares.
