President Bola Tinubu defended his government’s decision to prioritise infrastructural development under the Renewed Hope Agenda, stating that it forms the backbone of a modern economy.

He emphasized that Renewed Hope is more than a slogan; it translates into roads and convenience for ordinary citizens, and he urged Nigerians to keep supporting the administration’s infrastructure initiatives.

While inaugurating Collector Roads 01 and 02 in Mabushi District of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), the President—represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima—pledged that, with citizen support, his government would continue building roads, creating jobs, and restoring full confidence in governance.

Defending the administration’s focus on infrastructure, Tinubu noted that the new collector roads provide seamless links that improve traffic flow across Mabushi, from the bus terminal to the wider FCT.

He stated, “When roads connect, businesses grow. When movement is easy, productivity rises. When travel is safe, citizens are free. That is the Renewed Hope Agenda in action. Infrastructure is the backbone of a modern economy. Roads are more than asphalt.”

“They are the veins of commerce, the bridges of unity, the channels through which our people pursue their dreams without fear or delay. By strengthening interconnectivity here in Mabushi district and indeed, other districts, we are strengthening the entire Federal Capital Territory,” he added.

The President noted that for too long movement in that part of the nation’s capital had been hampered by traffic bottlenecks and needless detours, and he reflected on the “time lost that should have been spent at work, at school, or with family.”

He said the precarious situation has changed now that his administration has stepped in to repair the nation’s infrastructure.
