Several Super Eagles stars shone for their club sides in the just-concluded 2025/2026 season, Afrik Foot reports.
With the domestic club season across most of Europe wrapped up, Nigerian players left their mark, from Turkey to Belgium, Spain, and the Czech Republic.
While Osimhen continues to carry his superstar tag at Galatasaray, Paul Onuachu made the headlines with Trabzonspor, claiming the Turkish Super Lig Golden Boot.
Beyond the headline names, several other Nigerian attackers quietly enjoyed productive campaigns.

1. Paul Onuachu – 26 goals
The lanky striker enjoyed a productive campaign with Trabzonspor, scoring 26 goals in 36 games across all competitions to usurp Victor Osimhen as the highest goal scorer.
Onuachu’s goals were also clutch as he helped Fatih Tekke’s side win the Turkish League cup with a brace against Genclerbirligi in the final.

The Galatasaray striker suffered multiple injuries in the just-concluded season, most notably the arm fracture he suffered against Liverpool after colliding with Ibrahima Konate.
Still, the former Napoli man was able to record 15 goals in 22 league games, adding five assists.

After scoring 13 goals in 30 games for Viktoria Plzen in the first half of the season, the 23-year-old striker sealed a €9m move to Italian Serie A side Pisa.
However, Durosinmi couldn’t translate his form in the Czech league into the tactical demands of Serie A.
He scored just one goal in 12 games for Pisa, who were unfortunately relegated to Serie B. On the bright side, Durosinmi got an invite to Eric Chelle’s 2026 Unity Cup squad and was able to make his first appearance for the Super Eagles as they lifted the title at Charlton Athletic’s Valley Ground.

Lookman endured a tough start to the 2025/2026 season in Bergamo, as the club refused to sanction his desired move to Inter Milan.
In addition, he fell out with coach Ivan Juric, and Raffaele Palladino could only try to restore the confidence the 2024 CAF Player of the Year had already lost.
In all, Lookman scored three goals for La Dea, before a much-needed AFCON break that saw him regain his form, sealing a move to Atletico Madrid where he scored nine goals in 24 outings.

Like Durosinmi, Azeez made his first appearance for the Green and Whites during the 2026 Unity Cup, but the buildup to that point was nothing short of sensational.
The 25-year-old scored 11 goals and provided eight assists in the EFL Championship for Millwall. His output saw him claim a place in the League’s Team of the Year.
He won the hearts of Nigerians over with a double against Zimbabwe on his Super Eagles debut, and many will be looking forward to his inclusion in Chelle’s team ahead of the AFCON 2027 qualifiers.

Akor joined Sevilla in the winter transfer window of 2025, but injury problems limited him to just four appearances, during which he failed to score a single goal.
The start of the 2025/2026 season breathed life into the striker’s career, as he scored goals against Barcelona, ultimately earning a Super Eagles call-up on the back of that celebration in October.
He nailed down a starting berth under Eric Chelle and scored crucial goals to ensure Sevilla’s safety in the Spanish top-flight.

After terminating his contract with Sevilla, Kelechi Iheanacho joined Celtic on a one-year deal.
Although he lost his place in the starting lineup after multiple injuries, he became a hero off the bench for Martin O’Neill’s side as they scooped the Scottish double.

The Abuja-born right-winger joined Polish side Pogon Szczecin on a free deal from FC Kobenhavn last summer.
Mukairu proved his worth by scoring eight goals in 34 league games for Thomas Thomasberg’s side.
9. Gift Orban – 7 goals
The 23-year-old striker, on loan from TSG Hoffenheim, scored seven goals and provided two assists in 28 games for Hellas Verona, but his contribution wasn’t enough to save Paolo Sammarco’s side from dropping into Serie B.

After joining Wolves for €26m from KRC Genk, the 1.97m tall striker accrued just 13 league starts for Rob Edwards’ side, scoring just three goals.
He scored a goal in the Carabao Cup and added a double in the FA Cup, including a brilliant chip against Everton.
