Strait of Hormuz: Iran Declares No Commitment to Nuclear Inspection Plans

Iran has stated that it has not made any commitment regarding its nuclear programme after a meeting with U.S. delegates in Switzerland.

This statement comes despite the United Nations nuclear agency chief’s insistence that inspections would occur.

Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, Iran’s foreign ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei said that UN inspectors were not scheduled to examine nuclear sites that were bombed by the U.S. last year.

That claim contradicts U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance, who previously said that the negotiations in Switzerland had secured an agreement for inspectors to visit the sites.

Meanwhile, technical teams are working on the details of the deal after high‑level negotiations in Switzerland on Monday, led by Vance and Iran’s parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf.
