Senators' high blood pressure linked to return ticket controversy – Akpabio

Senate President Godswill Akpabio said that some senators are already experiencing high blood pressure over the return ticket to the National Assembly.

He made the comment on Wednesday during the inauguration of the National Campaign Council for the Ekiti state governorship election.

Akpabio urged those who are hypertensive to take care of their health before the final list of candidates is released.

“Some senators are having high blood pressure over the yet‑to‑be released final list of APC senatorial candidates for the 2027 elections,” he said. “For my people who are having hypertension, try to manage that condition, and then ensure that you have carried all the entire National Assembly along.”

“And for the governors, the state assemblies are going to be working with you. You have absolute right to choose anybody you want,” he added.
