Iran intercepts U.S.-made weapons carried by Iraqi groups

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard announced that it has seized a shipment of U.S.-made weapons that were being smuggled to Iraqi militia groups aligned with Tehran. The cache, reportedly hidden in trucks and containers crossing the Iran‑Iraq border, included rifles, ammunition and other small arms. Iran says the weapons were intended for the militias’ use against Iranian interests, while the United States has not confirmed the details. The incident heightens tensions over the flow of foreign arms to Iraq’s paramilitary forces. Views Nigeria
