Lazio head coach Maurizio Sarri has announced that he will refuse to attend the upcoming Derby della Capitale against AS Roma if the match is scheduled for a Sunday at 12:30 CET.

Sarri criticised the Serie A timetable, describing it as “not football” and a series of “incredible errors” made by league organisers.

“The sensation is that Monday I’m coming, Sunday at 12:30 I’m not coming: at that time, they can play themselves,” Sarri told Mediaset.

“The chaos comes from a series of errors made by the League. The Prefect was clear, let’s hope that is the date. If I were the president, I wouldn’t even present the team. We will take a one‑point penalty; for us, it changes nothing at this point.”

The Derby is scheduled for a Sunday 12:30 CET slot in mid‑May, when temperatures are expected to rise, a condition that Sarri deems unsafe and inappropriate for a high‑stakes match.
