SAHCO to Strengthen Trade Ties with the UAE and Other Partners

Skyway Aviation Handling Company Plc (SAHCO) has stated its intent to deepen trade facilitation between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

The company is also looking at strategic alliances with leading Middle Eastern airlines to increase passenger, cargo and e‑commerce flows between the two nations.

Managing Director and CEO Mrs. Adenike Aboderin spoke about boosting bilateral trade, improving passenger and cargo handling, fostering e‑commerce partnerships, and using aviation as a driver of economic growth.

Speaking on behalf of SAHCO Chairman Dr. Taiwo Afolabi, Mrs. Aboderin confirmed the company’s commitment to initiatives that enable seamless movement of passengers, cargo and trade between Nigeria and the UAE. She noted that SAHCO has the operational capacity, infrastructure and expertise needed to support higher passenger and cargo volumes and to meet the growing demand for e‑commerce logistics in the region.

She said: “We (SAHCO) are strategically positioned to support trade facilitation between Nigeria and the UAE through efficient Passenger Handling, Baggage Handling, Cargo handling services, modern infrastructure and a strong commitment to operational excellence. We are open to collaborations that will strengthen connectivity and create value for businesses in both countries.”

She also highlighted SAHCO’s openness to working with UAE airlines, arguing that stronger partnerships between aviation stakeholders in Nigeria and the UAE would significantly expand trade volumes, improve supply chain efficiency and support economic diversification.

The UAE delegation, led by Head of Mission to Nigeria His Excellency Salem Saeed Al‑Shamsi, expressed interest in learning about SAHCO’s operational capabilities and exploring ways to deepen cooperation in passenger, baggage, cargo and trade facilitation. He pledged that the UAE Embassy in Nigeria would act as a bridge for building deeper commercial ties between businesses in both countries.

SAHCO is a publicly listed aviation ground‑handling service provider operating at all commercially operated airports in Nigeria. Its services include passenger handling, ramp handling, cargo handling and warehousing, aviation security, premium lounge services and other related aviation activities.
