Sadiq Earns Praise from Corberán as Valencia Revives

Valencia head coach Carlos Corberán praised Umar Sadiq for his influence on the team’s strong performance since he joined.

The Nigerian international signed permanently with Los Che in January, after leaving Real Sociedad.

Sadiq entered as a substitute and netted the decisive goal that secured Valencia’s victory over Athletic Bilbao last weekend.

The 29‑year‑old has scored four goals for the club since arriving at the Mestalla.

With three matches remaining, Valencia sits four points above the relegation zone.

“Sadiq is an exceptional boy, a player in whom a sense of humor is part of his personality. I don’t want to change it, nor am I going to change it, nor do I intend to change it,” Corberán was quoted by futbolfantasy.
“He’s here at the club because we really liked what he gave us last year. He offers the team very good options, so we’re happy with that.”
