Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo said it would be “top” to face Lionel Messi and Argentina in the 2026 World Cup.
Ronaldo spoke to the media after scoring twice in Portugal’s 4‑0 victory over Uzbekistan on Tuesday.
The win places Portugal at the top of Group K with four points.
“Facing Leo Messi at the World Cup? The question doesn’t make a lot of sense… but ok. It would be top.”
“But my focus was on today. We won, I have been able to score, we keep going together. I am happy.”
If Portugal finishes first in their group, they will meet Argentina in the World Cup quarter‑finals.
