Rescue Operation Nets Kidnappers of Former Minister Adelabu’s Sister and Her Sons [Photos]

The suspects believed to have kidnapped Mrs. Olaide Busayo Adegoke John‑Paul, the younger sister of former Nigerian Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12‑year‑old twin sons have been identified after a police rescue operation.

Adegoke and her sons, Peter and Paul, were rescued alive on Saturday during an operation carried out by the Nigeria Police.

Police sources say that two suspected kidnappers were killed in a gun battle with officers, and two firearms were seized from the suspects.

The victims were abducted on Tuesday while Mrs. Adegoke was reportedly taking the children to school.

Police said that sustained intelligence gathering, tracking, and tactical pressure on the kidnappers led to the confrontation and the successful rescue of the victims.

A video of the rescue operation has since surfaced online, showing moments from the operation in which Mrs. Adegoke and her children were released.
