Regus Expands Abuja Presence with New Co‑Working Hub in Jabi

* Targets airport corridor after unveiling sixth facility in capital

Global workspace provider IWG has expanded its presence in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) by opening a new Regus co‑working facility in Jabi, Abuja. The launch comes as the company seeks to satisfy growing demand for flexible office spaces across Nigeria.

The new centre, inaugurated in a ceremony attended by business executives and partners, marks Regus’s sixth location in Abuja and is part of a broader strategy to strengthen its presence in key commercial districts nationwide.

During the event, IWG Country Manager Ayo Akinmade explained that the Jabi hub is designed to give businesses a ready‑to‑use office infrastructure, removing the need to set up and maintain traditional workspaces.

He noted that the facility is being developed in two phases. The first phase, now operational, occupies two levels and includes nine offices, three meeting rooms, a lounge, kitchenette, reception services and other business‑support amenities.

Akinmade said the second phase, which is currently under construction, will be completed within the next two months and will replicate the existing layout, creating a larger integrated workspace.

He added that Jabi was chosen as part of a plan to cover major business districts in Abuja, following the establishment of sites in the Central Business District and the Transcorp axis.

“We are looking at all the different business areas in Abuja and Jabi becomes a natural location to cover. We are also targeting somewhere around the airport corridor to complete the range we require,” he said.

Akinmade highlighted that the rising demand for flexible office solutions is driving the expansion, noting that many companies prefer plug‑and‑play environments rather than investing heavily in office infrastructure.

“Our objective is to create an environment where all a client needs to do is come with a laptop and start working immediately,” he stated.

He explained that Regus subscribers can use not only the Abuja location they register with, but also thousands of affiliated workspaces worldwide.

The network currently spans more than 7,000 locations globally, including facilities in Lagos, Port Harcourt, London and other major cities.

Clients pay monthly subscriptions and can access any Regus location within the network at no additional cost, subject to their membership plan.

Also speaking at the event, Logitech Integrated Services representative Sylvester Egweni described the partnership with Regus as a strategic move to strengthen the company’s global outlook.

Egweni said the collaboration aligns with Logitech’s operations, noting that both organisations share similar interests in delivering infrastructure and workspace solutions.

“It is not difficult to understand why we partnered with a globally recognised brand like Regus. The services align with what we do in project delivery and infrastructure support,” he said.

The ceremony included a ribbon‑cutting session performed jointly by Egweni and Akinmade, followed by a guided tour of the new facility led by Centre Manager Esther Omena.

Presentations on Regus products and services were delivered by Sales Director Josh Durugumma, while closing remarks were made by IWG Property Director Oyebimpe Oyedeji.

Addressing concerns about potential misuse of co‑working spaces by fraudsters, Akinmade said the company has strengthened its Know Your Customer procedures and works closely with law enforcement agencies.

He stated that prospective clients must submit identity verification and proof‑of‑address documentation before being granted access to office facilities.

According to him, while some business disputes are occasionally misconstrued as fraud allegations, the company remains vigilant in identifying suspicious activities and promptly notifying security authorities whenever necessary.

“Our business is to facilitate legitimate business operations, not fraud. We continue to improve our compliance processes and work with relevant authorities to address emerging risks,” he added.
