Real Madrid Talks with Arsenal About Signing Star Defender

Real Madrid are reportedly in talks with Arsenal to secure a summer transfer of Italy international Riccardo Calafiori.

Spanish reports say that Jose Mourinho specifically requested Calafiori’s signing should he return as Real Madrid’s head coach.

The club’s president Florentino Perez has been re‑elected, paving the way for Mourinho to resume duties at the Bernabéu.

According to Sky Sport Italia, a deal to bring Mourinho back to the club is being finalised, and Madrid is following his request for the defender.

Sky, via Football Italia, reports that Madrid representatives have contacted Arsenal to obtain information on Calafiori’s availability.

Madrid has expressed interest in signing him this summer, but the discussions remain at an initial exploratory stage.

In addition to Calafiori, Real Madrid will also bolster their squad with the acquisition of right‑wing‑back Denzel Dumfries from Inter. The Dutchman is expected to leave the Nerazzurri for a fee of around €20 million, following the activation of his release clause earlier this month.
