Enrique Riquelme, the Real Madrid presidential candidate, has announced that he has agreements in place to sign Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and Rodri if he is elected.

Riquelme made the statement during an interview on El Hormiguero on Wednesday night.

The 37‑year‑old said that Haaland has a release clause in his contract and is eager to move to Madrid.

“What I commit to is that, regarding the promises I have made about the two players,” Riquelme said. “If I am president of Real Madrid, and I fail to keep any of my promises, I have signed a notarized guarantee in which I commit to paying 100% of the membership fees of all 100,000 Real Madrid members next season.”

“Haaland has a clause in his contract and wants to play for Real Madrid,” he added.

Riquelme will be running against the incumbent Florentino Pérez in this weekend’s presidential elections.
