Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hinted at the club’s transfer ambitions ahead of the summer window, amid growing interest in Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, according to Afrik‑Foot.

The 15‑time European champions are preparing for a major rebuild after a disappointing season that is expected to finish without a major trophy.

Los Blancos lost the La Liga title to bitter rivals Barcelona, despite holding a strong advantage in the race. They were also eliminated from the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League, and were beaten in the Spanish Super Cup final earlier in the year.

The Spanish giants have also been clouded by off‑pitch controversies, including the dismissal of head coach Xabi Alonso earlier in the campaign and recent reports of tension among senior players during training.

Real Madrid is expected to launch a new era this summer, with several high‑profile names already linked to a move to the Spanish capital as the club seeks to regain its domestic and European dominance.

A top priority is the appointment of a new head coach. Former manager José Mourinho is emerging as a leading candidate to return for a second spell at the end of the season.

Mourinho’s potential link to Madrid has also fueled speculation about Victor Osimhen. Reports suggest that if he returns as head coach, Mourinho would consider the Nigerian striker as his first‑choice centre forward.

During an interview with El Chiringuito TV, Perez confirmed that Madrid is ready to pursue top‑quality players this summer.

“Of course we will sign players this summer. Always exciting signings. When there’s a good player, I go for him,” Perez said, as reported by 433.

Will Victor Osimhen join Real Madrid?

Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen continues to attract interest from several top European clubs ahead of the transfer window. His performances over the last few seasons have made him one of the most sought‑after strikers currently.

Since joining Galatasaray in 2024, the 27‑year‑old has become a key player for the club, consistently scoring in domestic and European competitions. Osimhen has netted 59 goals in 74 appearances across all competitions and helped the Cimbom win three trophies in two seasons.

The Super Eagles star has already been linked with Arsenal, Manchester United, Barcelona and Real Madrid.

A move to Madrid could be tied to Mourinho’s potential return, offering Osimhen a greater chance to compete for the UEFA Champions League and other major trophies.

However, Galatasaray are unwilling to sell the Nigerian forward this summer, as they plan to build the team around him to maintain their dominance in the Turkish Super Lig.
